‘Strak, puntig en snel als een roltrap op tilt!’ Dat was de beschrijving die een journalist gaf na het zien van Dog Called Phenix in de Melkweg, Amsterdam.
De Amsterdamse band – met invloeden van o.a. Arctic Monkeys, Danko Jones, Foo Fighters, Queens of the Stone Age en White Lies – bracht eind 2008 haar debuutcd ‘Someone’s Gonna Love Me’ uit.
DCP werd o.a. 3FM Serious Talent, finalist van Emerganza en de Amsterdamse Popprijs en deed veel shows in het clubcircuit. Als voorlopige hoogtepunten noemen de jongens het voorprogramma in een uitverkochte Melkweg, spelen op het hoofdpodium van Zwarte Cross, als slotact op de Amsterdamse Uitmarkt en op het United Island Festival in Praag.
Dit jaar komt de band, in samenwerking met Stefan Schmid van Zuco 103, met nieuwe nummers en gaat ze een toer doen door binnen- en buitenland.

“Rigid, razor-sharp and fast like an escalator running out of control”, this was how a journalist described Dog Called Phenix, after seeing them perform in the Melkweg, Amsterdam.
The Amsterdam based band – influenced by Arctic Monkeys, Danko Jones, Foo Fighters, Queens of the Stone Age and White Lies – released their debut album “Someone’s Gonna Love Me” end 2008.
DCP became 3FM Radio’s Serious Talent, finalist of Emerganza Festival and the Amsterdam Popprize and have played many shows in the club circuit. Their highlights so far are; playing as a support act for a sold out Melkweg, on the main stage of the Zwarte Cross Festival, as the final act for the Amsterdam Uitmarkt and at The United Island Festival in Prague.
This year the band, in collaboration with Stefan Schmid of Zuco 103, will release new songs and will do a tour across the Netherlands and abroad.
